Hey I just moved to MI this year and am looking for a good camping/roadtrip destination in my newley acquired M1009. I want to give her a good test before I take her to KY. Wanted to take it to Lousiville this weekend for the machinegun shoot, that is a great time by the way if there is anyone who hasent been before. By the way I have to pick up my tags wed, and good mounting ideas out there, thinking about sucktion cups to rear glass for easy removal. Thanks in advance

PS I can check if G&L has any more vehicles left wed for anyone interested.

Drive it over here to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. 3.5 hour highway trip to test the reliability and then a chance to play on the dunes with the truck for a while then make the run back. Should be a good test.

As stated above, Mackinaw Island (no cars allowed) and the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn. Also if you travel to the west coast of Michigan stop by Muskegon and check out the USS Silversides (WWII submarine). Then there are the usual summer tourist haunts like Traverse City, Petoskey, Oscoda.

kalkaska has the national trout festival april 21-25 great camping lots of state land and this year morell mushrooms should sprouting by then

If not a member of AAA, join and check with them for events around the state.
Also most of the state parks ( DNR - Recreation & Camping ) and all of the Metro-parks ( Huron-Clinton Metroparks ) are real nice places to visit and/or camp.

I didn't see a CUCV out there, I had my solid green Deuce out at Knob Creek. Going towards the range, I was in the upper parking lot, way back on the right.

Great success on the trip 600 mile roud trip without a problem looks like I got a good one. I got to the shoot on sat around noon and parked in the upper lot across the road from that mule for sale. Great time I have been going for years and this was the best turnout and weather I have seen yet. Oh yea they were sending cars out to the far lot and when I pulled up he turned sideways and let me park up front

That's a bonus for taking military iron to the show. They'll normally get you up front somewhere, no matter what time it is.
