Bad positive rectifier?

Following the directions below, I was diagnosing the rectifiers on my generator that is not charging. It appears that my positive rectifier is bad, but the readings I am getting on my multimeter do not match what they are saying in the instructions below. It says between 20 and 30 ohms for a 1.5 V dry cell and 10 to 15.ohms for a 3 V dry cell? That is where I am confused with my readings and what they’re asking.

this is the readings from connection 4 in the diagram. And along with that a picture of connection 4

this is the reading from all three posts on the negative rectifier.

this is the reading from connections 3, 5, and 6 on the positive rectifier

Ok I switched multimeters and got better results. About 12.5 ohms on connections 3,5,6 on the + rectifier and on 4 almost no reading. So guess I will replace the positive rectifier.

The battery references in the manuals are for military multimeters, not the Klein unit your using. Either way when reading diodes you should see a low resistance in one direction and a very high or near open reading after switching the leads. If you're getting low readings in both directions the diodes are shot. You do want to make sure that you've seperated the Pos and Neg diode banks before measuring them otherwise all your doing is reading the drop across them both. Those diode banks are available from Southern Automotive.

Do you suggest changing the regulator since one of the rectifiers as bad? I already ordered both rectifiers. Also did all the other tests according to the TM and they all came out good on the generator. Just seems to be a bad positive rectifier. Beats spending almost $800 on the generator lol.

I don't see any reason to arbitrairily change out the regulator unless after the diode replacement it fails to control the voltage.
