Banjo fitting not sealing

I used all brand new washers and fittings and 3 out of the 6 were leaking. I'm thinking they might be a lower grade copper which would make them harder. Maybe I'll try the heat trick. Thanks for the replies to such a dumb problem.
As mentioned, torque to the spec annotated in the tech manual. Hand tools may feel like it tight, 3/8" drive torque wrench is the charm, a little oil between the fitting and washer helps.

I'm too late for this conversation, but I'll add that once upon a time I found that the new wheel cylinder that I was installing had the banjo threads drilled at an angle to the sealing face. The banjo bolt simply entered the body of the cylinder at an angle, and no amount of copper washers would fix it!

I know it's rare, but I guess it could happen to someone other than me.
