Ok, I did a little search but nothing pertaining to the 818 truck.

I sprayed the bolts that hold the plate over the tank today with some wd-40 and tried to remove the bolts with my ratchet and wrench and it was a no-go.

Little timid to take heat to it as both tanks are full and I've seen first hand what happens when you mix fire and fuel, I used to play in fires before I hurt my back.

So I'm thinking about taking my impact to it, and just taking the entire spare tire, tool box assembly off.

If anybody has any tips, or suggestions I'm all ears.

My sending units are secured with Philips head screws as is the lift tube on my right tank. I have an M39/M809 series tank on the right and an M939A0/A1 on the left. Both have screws holding down the sending units. I have never has issues removing the screws. Attach pics of what your set-up looks like.

I ended up getting the top plates off and looks like I will be painting the tanks next week as I let the zep purple degreaser sit to long. On the positive side I can see everything that wasn't prepped right and wasn't painted. Oh the brown water that poured off.

Just have to figure out if my bike stand will hold the full tank, and I need to get new padding for the straps, and 8 new bolts .

I'm thinking hot pink for the tanks, lol
