I keep leaving the dash light power switch on and keep having to charge the battery it seems to only drain the front one. I know the best solution is to remember to turn the toggle back off , but what is the best way to jump the m1009 off , and is it possible to do w out cables and what is the best way to do it w one set of cables and a 12 v car? Thanks guys

I do not know how to jump a 24v truck off a 12v car but I can say that the best solution is not having to switch off the service lights every time you park your truck. I leave mine on all the time so I don't forget to turn it on and I've never had an issue. Maybe someone else can chime in.

If its dying when the switch is left in the on position it sounds like you have a drain somewhere. Finding the drain would be my top priority after she gets started.

Wire them to the key switch so they are off when the key is off. As far as jumping it charge one battery for 10min with the jumper cables then put the cables on the other for ten minutes and try to start it. I cant remember which battery pulls the most amps when starting though. Thats the one you want the cables on though. if connecting 12v to a 24v system ALWAYS REMEMBER TO PUT THE CABLES ON A SINGLE BATTERY + to + - to - NEVER ON + and - OF THE TWO SERIES BATTERIES you do not have to remove any 24v wiring.

I would probably have a better chance winning the lotto than finding what's draining it haha

You don't have to get 24 volts from the battery you are jumping from.........I've jumped my deuce a bunch off a 12 volt car when I first got it and was working out the alternator bug it had(bought it and didn't know it had a sporadic alternator)

All you have to do is hook into one of the 24 volt batteries (in his cast I would hook into the one that keeps going dead, as the other one is fine)......like posted above, it will boost that battery and with the second one still hooked up you have the 24 volts you need....

Toggle the blackout drive light switch, as that is just a momentary to either engage or disengage a relay for the driving blackout light. That one is very easy to not notice it is on, since the switch is always in the middle position, and the light is very hard to see in any kind of daylight. And, I think, that even if the drive blackout light is burned out, the relay still will use power to hold it energized.

See which alternator is warm after you let it sit overnight, and replace the diode pack on that alternator.
