Kansas Forestry is here today pulling an A2 wiring harness, a new one is 1100 dollars. I told them we would be more than fair with them.
Wait a minute:

- You're kidding here, right?

- There are forests in Kansas!?

I got stuck off the side of the road for 24-hours once in Salinas as a kid, hitchhiking from D.C.-to-Boulder (hitchhiking; yeah I know, a long time ago).

I'm an East Coast/ Mid-Atlantic "sailor"; real used to trees. That was one rough 24-hours for me. From horizon-to-horizon (360 degrees), there was not a SINGLE tree in sight.

Actually started giving me the heebie-jeebies!

Are you sure those forestry guys said they were from Kansas???

We have some forests, well maybe wooded areas along the creeks and rivers.
That's funny, 91W350; and you're reminding me of wilderness backpacking trips I made up in NW Wyoming where the map would show a "river" with any of various names.

And then me and my buddies would arrive at that river, and walk across it in like two steps (from one shore, to a rock in the middle, and then another step to the far shore).

We got a kick out of that, but then we were all from the Mid-Atlantic region where the name "river" means something different than above tree-line in the Rockies.

Everything is relative. I get it!

Dave sorry I forgot to check when I was out there this morning on your tire sizes I was in a rush to get out of there before it got to the upper 90's. Glen did say they would be open till 2 this Saturday, their PH# is in the book so give him a call.
As usually the frame stacks are getting bigger and 4 new truck showed up while I was there, this isn't going to last forever so if you need 939 series parts make the trip. As always Glen is very fair on his prices and the yard guys will help you if you ask.

STOP please. I vowed to not go back again (I've gone three times this summer), but I can't think of that stuff going to the crusher when so many people need stuff. Glen is like Obi-wan.

images-5.jpeg You will come back and pull more parts..

MAYBE one more time. Glen when is V-Day for the 700 trucks? Did the crusher take the cab / hood pile yet? I think I could get some goodness out of there.

Getting ready to build a crew cab bobber! We have plenty of spring sets that are on bare frames. We have some really nice cabs right now. There was a time when I thought we would have 105 trailers forever. We had over 400 at one time. They have all made tracks. I think the best option would be a shortened I so bed with troop seats.

Are you going to start a build-thread?

Just got back from a quick morning trip out to the land of 939's. As I was doing my walk through of complete trucks before they hit death row 000_0119.jpg I heard a noise between the trucks and the fence and was surprised to run into therooster2001 . He had been there for 2 days pulling parts and was doing some last minute pulls, so he could get back to motel and showered before his drive home to the Rockies.
I was pulling the power inlet plug to the blinker fluid tank to use for the MRE heaters 000_0178.jpg and he was after them. It is easier to undo the plug with the flasher module unbolted from the fire wall, I kept the plug and handed him the modules so it was a win win. I also let him know Glen has a pile of them in his office that I had pulled the last time I was there. I also noted there were a couple more USMC trucks with lockers and straight ISO beds except for the little door on the rear, it seems to be the target for fork truck drivers! Wish I could have visited more with him and Glen but had to get home to finish some honey do's.

Well, I'm still unpacking, but had a good time at Glen's. 2 days of pulling was cool. Mostly got flashers, failsafe's, a couple of light switches, a bunch of headlights and buckets. Someone nailed all the CTIS cab parts before I got there. Glen has a ton of trucks still, although I heard that only 25 are left on the contract. He said Riley has around 500 left in a lot, so more coming and he might be able to score another contract or no doubt get some non runners.

Glen is such good people, we chatted a bit and he was still amazed I got an entire bow set with uprights into the Mini Cooper. He has a ton of tires, seats, and plenty of parts to get.

Good to actually put a face with the name, Dave (MWMules). We checked out the beat up USMC trucks. They just drive those things into the dirt. At least 5 trucks there, so no doubt there are lockers. His drive out is 3, mine is 6, and I heard someone does 13. With cheap gas and diesel, I had to make one more run, and it's worth it every time. Glen is more than fair with pricing. I stay one exit away for $60 a night if you need to stay, and right next to a Braums...

Go see him before we all say, remember when Glen had all those 939's?

That's one thing I'll say as a taxpayer, regarding the USMC:

- We all get more bang-for-the-buck from the Corps than any other U.S. Government agency out there.

If every federal agency ran as efficiently as the USMC, none of us as taxpayers would have any complaint about paying taxes. But, too bad that as far as I know, that can ONLY be said about the Corps.
