seems like the biggest things are the castings. .

Not to be nitpicking here, but they better be forged not cast for strength.

a good weld shop should be able to fix it better than new

As a side note sometimes I throw a logging chain in between the trucks as my "safety" chain. It makes the cops, and DOT happy.

That would be why a second set of shackle mounts would be useful. Attachment points for safety chains.

If these are the right ones for a Deuce and someone is near Ft Riley, Kansas what is the chances we could do a co-op for them?

Look at how they dwarf the pallet. That should tell you something. Also worth noting is the rosette weld on the tube for strength.

i admitt i wont want to drag it every day but, when you need a good one that would be the one. i think i could tow my XM818w/w and the M131A4 behind with out any concerns. that's piece of mind for me.

You guys are NUTS for wanting M88/M1 towbars for wheeled vehicles.. Better have a crew of 4 ready to help lift it....... Have any of you actually picked up and tried to USE these towbars??

I want one of the bigger towbars. Big trucks need big towbars. I can get by with the medium towbar for small stuff like a deuce (in this pic with 1100x20 duals.)

For the big stuff you deal with, the M88 is a good idea. For anything less, like 5 or 2.5 tons, it's WAY overkill.
