Bows for a Deuce

Does anyone know where i can find a set of Bows (good shape) for my Deuce
And the canopy (also in good shape). i am looking for a cheap set to complete
my Deuce project.

Cheap is a relative word and not often applied to a cargo cover and bows. I've never seen bows cheaper than $10 each and they were really rough...useable, but rough. The cargo cover...even a rough one is worth $100. Most bows go in the $20/each range. Figure you are going to spend at least $200.

I bought some dimensional poplar lumber that would fit in the pockets and corners and used that. Cheaper than oak, not as strong BUT just if not more flexible. Worked so far for 4-5 years so far.

I have a very nice set for a drop side, of course very nice for a non dropside too, fiberglass stays like new corners, and very very nice oak bows for 200 and a brand new deuce cover for 300....since U asked....these are the going rates of nice stuff, have seen em for more. there are times they come up a few less dollars, but not often.and the cover is soooo new its in the bag........Randy

thanks for the info. im going to try and make my own bows. id like to be able to say "i did that" to anyone who asks. any tips for bending the bows and keeping them that way?

soak them down in water and clamp them down to something like a peice of plywood till they dry. its really not much of a bend anyway. i have made curved base board with water soaking and a heavy object on a rope to pull down to make it curve.. dont take long Tim

thanks. now i just gotta finish up with all the shipping (the 820s) and then i can finally start investing my money in restoration.
