Brakes? 15 miles from home - M923A2

My air compressor just quit and I'm 15 miles from home dwindling air pressure. What do I need to do?

M939 or M809 series truck I assume?

Your Governor or unloader may be stuck, carefully remove the little air line on the compressor head. That’s your signal line, and with the truck running place your thumb over the compressor port, and also one over the line you disconnected. Does it blow from either?

Also, is your drier blowing air out the bottom of the purge valve constantly? IE large leak

Depending on your pressure, and if you need to use the brakes you may be able to make 15 miles. Just be mindful that when you get around 40 psi your brakes are gonna start to drag and eventually lock up so you need to find a safe place to get off the road.

No purging it was earlier but compressor is not doing anything.

No, no cage bolts for front they do not have piggyback springs

If the tanks are seeing no air then the unloader line definitely has no air since its from the ppv side of the system.

Get it home. Diagnose the issue. Then worry about parts. Unloader could just be stuck. Do not spray wd40 in it like some other geniuses do

Yes I diconected the line on top of compressor and no air on either side. Tanks are almost empty.

If you know anyone with a gas operated compressor have them bring it to you. Or use your deuce to come share air

You can air the truck up through the emergency connection on the front of the truck on the left side behind the bumper. It has a quarter turn valve which has to be open to let air in and closed to keep air in. You need an air line with a glad hand on each end and another truck or compressor to supply air. The rear emergency connection doesn't work, I believe, because there are check valves in the line to the rar.
