I had posted here about a week or so that my m1009 would run for about 1/4 then die. Started by flushing my fuel lines then replaced the mechanical fuel pump but found out that the rod was broken 3/4 of the way ( I think the small piece was near the lobe) would that cause it to starve for fuel at acceleration meaning the half piece would float some where in the hole.

Thanks in advance.

I think it would. You'll get less fuel flow. Of course, making sure the broken piece isn't floating around inside your engine is first priority.

Do a search on electric fuel pumps. A lot of folks here have converted their trucks and gotten rid of the mechanical pump. Seems to be a good idea.
