There is another way to look at it. If you don't have a CDL, get in an accident, and someone gets hurt you could be facing criminal charges because the police at the scene of the accident are going to charge you with driving out of license class for sure. Imagine being in court and trying to convince a jury that you didn't need a CDL. We can't even get agreement here on the board where people are truck savvy-image a jury without any technical knowledge at all. Gotta look at the up side-you have to get a physical every 2 years. This is good because most guys avoid going to the doctor like the plague. I had my physical and they found a bad heart and I was in the operating room the next day. Also, going to a truck driving school made me a much better driver in everyday driving.
