Can anyone decipher this?

I was not sure where to post this, but this is the most active section on the forum. Mods, please feel free to move the post to a more appropriate section if need be.
After doing some history on my deuce I was found the truck was once marked with the number WTY9AA which translates to it having served in the Michigan National Guard. I got that information from this PDF file...

It's on page 91. I cannot figure out what a few of the abbreviations stand for in each column? UIC is obviously unit identification code. OFF might be OFFICE? I have no idea what BR stands or or what AG stands for. Adjutant General maybe?

I am really interested in what you find out! Since your M220 Jimmy was painted white at one time and you are in Yuma, I assume your truck finished up its military service with Yuma Proving Ground like mine did. I could not find unit markings on the OD paint under the white paint (the markings on the white paint went way back to sometime before 1972 and probably 1968 because I can date when the various units went in and out of existence. If there was some relationship as to use or mission, then I wonder if my truck started its trip to YPG from the same place as yours. ~~ I had a guy attending the St. Pat's parade in Denver that he might have slept in my truck. He said there were 4 just alike that were used to direct civilian traffic through the Garrison when there was a flood that took out a bridge and things had to be routed through the area.

That's how I got the above info in the first place, I made a post on my trucks info in his 2011 VIN thread. Old Fart, you should do the same! The trickiest part for me was finding my M220's NSN. I can PM you this number and hopefully you can get some info on your M220. Funny thing you mention a flood, there was a terrible flood in this area (on the way to YPG) that had most of the area under water for a long time. Small world!!

I gave my info to Carnac just as soon as I picked up our truck. He could find nothing. I am guessing it might be because of the time the truck was with Harry Diamond Labs, it might have dropped off the radar so to speak. Still, it was at the last under ATEC and only recently put on surplus.

Did you make sure your information was correct? NSN, registration, VIN, etc.? Atleast you still know more about your trucks history than I do about mine. And yours is 100% original. Want to trade?
Carnac actually helped me decipher the above a little better. Mine was with the 363rd Adjutant General Detachment in Lansing.
Which I guess is part of the HHD (Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment). Not sure how all that works, it's pretty confusing.

HHD is correct but the HHD belongs to the (now inactivated) 363rd Adjuntant General Det. So probably all the unit was was an HHD. If it was an HHC (Company), they would have had different platoons under them.

There were transfer forms in the glove box that listed the NSN, registration etc. The registration number was the same as what was painted on the truck. There were several layers of the same registration number. At the top layer of paint, the numbers were vinyl stick ons and below they were painted. The best part was a survey of the truck that was used to justify it's surplus condition signed off by a Garrisson mechanic and then his supervisor. I made phone calls to YPG and started to try to locate the people who had signed the transfer and inspection forms at the same time I made the VIN request of Carnac.

By the way, how long is your VIN number? ours is 4 digits (one alpha and 3 numeric.) Our Alpha is Y which makes it a 1955 for sure. I wonder how many Jimmy's they made in 1955 or total for that matter?

Actually you were lucky. There are only 6 or so M220s in the database.

It took me long enough to figure out what ATEC and AMC stood for. The YPG was pretty straight forward and it seems while with Harry Diamond Labs there may have been nothing on the bumper other than the 019 number since Harry Diamond was plastered on the top of the van body. I have not replaced the Harry Diamond Laboratories lettering yet. I have the vinyl letters made, but am torn about which period I represent. The Garrison historian tells me it did not likely carry the YPG ident at the same time as it was in Harry Diamond. I am beginning to think that period was long and significant enough to be represented and who would know YPG on the bumper may not have been displayed while Harry Diamond was on the Van Body. (Then again, no one really knows that for sure and so far no one remembers that kind of detail about the truck. I have chosen to show the bumper as AMC YPG rather than the later ATEC as the former represents the longer period of time.

At some point, I will have to ask Carnac what "56 SDE" represents, but I will need to get more than the bumper markings before I start that quest.
