Im going to use the box behind the drivers seat to mount a C.B./ham radio and a stereo and walkie talkies in it and hopefully some kind of legal army radio since i have all the radio cables were left ln the truck when i got it at FT CAMPBELL. I guess it was a radio truck and my hope is that the all steel box will act as a fairaday cage to protect the electronics from sun spots and such . I will mount the speakers /orbital lights and monitor screens in/on the overhead console over the windshield and a all metal heavy duty 12v fan hanging down from the console in the center and a row o rocker switches for all of the led lights that will be on the nerf bars when i get them built this spring ! Knock on wood .

I worked for 3 days (thats one regular day to anyone else) and put the aluminum backed heat/db sheild on the ceiling and back wall. Then glued 8yrds of gray indoor/outdoor thin carpet from lowes to a couple of sheets of 1/4 plywood and fliped them over and glued the chrome bubble rap insulation to the other side . Then stripped the cargo boxes and wall panels out and went to town ! And this was the result of climbing in and out of that cab 200 times . Im probably do the door panels this weekend so it all matches !View attachment 859322View attachment 859323View attachment 859324
@chucky that looks great! How did you attach the plywood to the truck steel? I don’t see any bolts…. What did you use?

I am planning my panels, but need to repaint the interior and dash first.

I used the 1 in self tapping fine thread drywall screws from lowes with the red label on the box . And get you a 4 ft something straight and use a marker or tape mark the front of the cab ceiling at the end of each 1/3 circle of the turret hole and there is a straight line from front to back of cab where the framework hangs down to meet your headliner so both ends are marked so you throw the stick up to match the tape line and put your screws in . I put the ceiling in first so the back wall when it gets put in supports the ceiling . The ceiling is 74 x 48 but double check always and there is a flat lip all the way around the cab to but up to and screw into that make the outer ring of the ceiling a breeze. Now the part that will cause tears is now that ive got the carpet glued on one side and the bubble wrap glued on the other side how will you get it in the cab and put it up? By yourself !!!!!! Before the glueing beguins you will have to take a circular saw and score the 1/4 in plywood without cutting all the way thru ! Cut long ways at the 2ft mark from end to end and scoot over 3/8ths in for each score 5 or 6 times so once you have everything glued on you can bend the sheet long ways to get it thru the door facing and leave the overhead grab handle still installed on the oposite side of you because your going to rest the sheet on that handle while you screw your side in a few spots on that straight line we talked about earlier and put the headliner against the backwall good and square before you start screwing and the front end of the 48 will come up shourt of reaching the front of the cab so you build a console like mine . Screw it to the lip above the wind shield and put up a nailer across the ceiling to screw the upper part of the console to .

You can pick up a cheapo battery tester on amazon if needed. Your main concern is the ability to dial in the type of battery(AGMF,AGMS,Standard Flooded,Gel) and the CA/CCA just to give you an idea of what's in there.
This is good advice! Battery chargers aren’t all that expensive these days. Having a good one in the shop is a good thing. Some of them will detect the battery type automatically and adjust the charge accordingly. 7.5 amps will not bring a marginal battery this big back to full charge. I think something in the 20 to 40 amp range should do it. What you have is a battery tender. It’s great to connect to a battery that is in storage. I keep battery tenders on my lawn tractor and quad during the winter. I use 24 volt battery tenders on my military vehicles. It extends the life of the batteries and they always have plenty of cranking power. It’s better to keep your batteries fully charged then to let them drain down and try to rescue them. Be sure to a battery tender for stored batteries and not a charger. Most chargers will over charge the battery.

Nope

I don't like it on your truck.

It would look nice on MY truck though.

I can arrange shipping if you like.....
OH DONT GET ME STARTED ON SHIPING !!!!!!! 86HUMV was kind enough to sale me the drivers side ant mount for my truck and he handed it over to the USPS on the 1st of march and i still havnt seen it spent 54 min on hold to reach customer svc on wed it made it from TX to Memphis on the 6th and vanished it says its in transit from memphis since the 6th to nashville i could have ridden a scateboard from memphis with the ant mount under my arm and still already been here for 2 days ! For some reason they never loose any bills coming to my house but this is the 3rd package lost in the last 6 months so with that said im going to mail you this stuff you want and you wait by your mailbox thats if you ever trimed the bushes out front they may have grown over the mailbox lol.

And the racing handles for the door are universal but for some great reason the splined insert is actually the exact rite sise so there only 16 bucks per door on amazon just get 2 sets of window cranks and unscrew the knob off of 2 of them ! ezpze
