AHHHHH well with the heat index at between 105-110 i thought it would be a great week to work on the truck and get some small things done ! So i got the chrome polish out and polished all the tail/marker lights and they turned out like new and then got my 10/11 meter radio and antenna built and mounted in the cab so i can keep in touch with all my cb friends lol !9AB577CC-9E86-4C72-B79C-27F811F16E84.jpeg9421022B-A91D-4E44-B94D-D5CA31AD0775.jpeg866B58F8-6A89-46C8-A9B3-57290F48DFD9.pngFC61380C-C8B5-4EC6-B279-FFE0A3B0F922.jpeg

Looks OK, but that driver-side antenna mount is way overkill and adds a lot of weight.

You might want to pull that off and send it to me for proper disposal....

;p

I haven't decided if I want to fab one or just mount all my antennas onto the roof rack.
I was THIS close to boxing it all up for a trip to your house when it dawned on me ! You might not think it was a very good gift and not even use it and i would be out all that postage ! And the roof rack would be a better place if you have one . I cant force myself to sit down and try to start making some for my truck but cant decide on tube sise ! Some say bigger is better and the ones that say that KNOW about PIPE !!!!

Looks good sir, especially the body fluid containment apperatus hanging in the windows. I foud the same antenna bracket at green acres and does a fine job supporting the 102" on the ambulance.
I was going to put an 102 in on this but everybody wanted 100 bucks and i had this pig in the shop and it has a 92 % efficiency of getting signal out vs 100% on the 102 in but im gona live with 92 for free instead of 100 for 100 ! And that sunmelting device in the window this morning was installed so i could sid on the pass side with a big fan blowing on me while i wired and checked swrs which came out great at 1.1 on 1 / 20 / 40 so saved me a heat stroke outside trying to trim the antenna down or the other way ! I believe im going to order some of those windshield bubble wrap sun screens for all the glass in the cab just to keep the sun from bleaching out the seat since i must have moved to HELL and not rememberd it ! Its hot as Satans sandals out there today and im fixing to have to start watering the gravel everything else has done sheit the bed in the yard !

Somebody with the CAD skills needs to 3D print a cover ring for the LMTV bucket that allows for the use of a civilian 4" round LED.

It's another one of those things that would sell a million copies (unless it's priced by one of the point-of-compass skalperz).

$20 pair of LEDs + $20 3D printed part = $400 at <insert_you_know_who_here>

*zero F's given about the blackout crap

Your saying use this bracket where the turn signals are now to use other lights in that hole?
Yep.

Purchase some $20 civilian LEDs. A bracket or a pedestal/bucket from the civilian market.

Either way is a fraction of what the scalpers want for the drop-in surplus LEDs that fit the OEM buckets..

It's the same $20 pair of LEDs period. Not $400 LEDs.

Copy that ! Thanks. I thought about changing all the marker lights and go to led but i like how rugged the old style are with the metal fixtures would be hard to damage so im going to keep the AO markers and ive already got the led tail lights so the front turn/yellow was all i lacked

replace the bulb with an LED equivilant. Use a bulb matching the lens color btw...... studies show that with LED's matching color to lens color is more effective. Someone in here has posted part # leds that fit the sockets..... though they got standard white.. so you might have to search the net a little after you find that thread to find same bulb in red... yellow... whichever you need.

Copy that i can get the faces off the front yellow i just liked the look of the factory yellow fronts . Thought about replacing all the marker light bulbs with leds but i cant get the 3 rear centers off without drilling them thats why i polished them in place ! Thanks

Just came in from mounting my cb in the storage box behind the drivers seat up high on the forward wall to not mess up my storage and made a 6ft power lead that stays in the box and the coax stays outside the box so the electronics will be saved in a EMP event ! The gears constantly turning !!!!! lol

confused... care to elaborate more?
OK i assume all the lm/fm cabs all have the 2x2 steel storage boxs behind the seats. If you mount any type of electronics in these boxs to where when in storage mode no cables going in or out of the box in the event of an EMP the electronics/radios would not be effected by the EMP . They call them FARADAY CAGE/BOX

ok.... know what a Faraday cage is..... was not understanding cause you did not explain that the power cord and coax are going to be disconnected and stored inside. Thought you were running them out the box... which then looses any Faraday value unless I was missing something.... and I miss a lot of things LOL. For Faraday cage do believe they say to also run aluminiuminzed tape over all seams including closed and latched top.

copy that ! All you can do is drop cables when your not useing them to try to not let anything follow something in the box !
