Whats her name ? VICTOM !!!! LMAO thats such a nice thing your doing having a taxi at the beach for the naive bikinis crowd and i bet free beer and anything else you put in the bottle for the same demographic your so kind !Not all my rides are FMVs.
*relevant because "headphones" ;p
Sorry for the skipping camera in that car, it's one of those mouse-pointy-turny-look-around-clips.
.OK its time to start building a pipe cage for the cab any ideas on sise and gauge pipe? and ladders on the cab side or not?
I dont really want to close up the turret whole just in case i stumble/make a ring bearing i already have the mount i just need the bearing but while not useing it i could store some kind of water proof boxs on top ! I think i want oilfield pipe for the main exoskelaton what big limbs would run up to approach the top of the box but drop back to 2 in pipe for crossbars i just cant find any oilfield pipe around here but its 2 7/8 i think o.d. it might be too heavy so still study on it for a bit.
Makes you wonder if an open pipe kind of gizmo with a luggage rack - or would there be enough fuel savings to consider a cab fairing to pay for it? Seems that most of what we do is for looks rather than actually saving a dollar - so maybe you dress up your truck as you see fit?
It might be possible for the fairing on top of the cab might could be used as a luggage rack. If that were so, you would need a ladder or two too
Yep maybe some kind flat material on a angle to cut the wind a little but at 54 mph im not really going to slice the wind lol and if i went with 2 3/8 od and i have to fasten the frame to the cab and it tilts with the cab i hope my lift cylinder is up for it !If i am looking correctly and thinking the cab tilts forward,, it will take a lot of thought and planning so to not tool block yourself and have reasonable access to truck vital areas. I would think 1.5" would be the smallest and look proportioned. There are a lot of different splices and clamps that cage fabricators use to access maintenance areas on race trucks and such. Yes on the roof fairing as a storage area. never have enough places to store things.
And i also want to have folding windshield protector that folds from the roof hinging on the roll bar cross pipe over the windshield to fold down to connect with cross pipe under the windshield and look kind of like the blast panels on the rocket mounted fmtv's got to have that MADMAX look lol !.

Yes i thought of just leaving the pass thru whole open and a overhead fan to vacume the cold air out of the box into the cab if it got too hot but im not planning on being in that cab very often im not hauling freight with the thing just rarely changing campsites here locally i have such great places close to go on private land so its just me and the cattle oh and the dancers (of coarse ) !!!.
I would agree, but I am a cheap A$$ and a full auto browning mounted on a turret - outside in the rain - is just a little more than I could stomach. Funny how when those things are "supplied to you by uncle", it isn't nearly as stressful. I figure if it gets that bad, I would rather have an armored vehicle rather than a sheetmetal box with a turret ring on top of it.
The AC that I have installed on the turret insert is pretty neat but if I had the split system that you have in the back of your box @chucky I think I would be using that to cool my cab... Maybe that isn't possible, but that sure seems like a heck of a deal.
I put a luggage rack on top pf my M936. More as a light rack than anything . I didn't make ladders so the luggage part would be a real pain...
If you build one, I sure would think what I have seen needs improvement. The ladder beside the door LOOKS cool, but I can't see how the heck it would be possible to put more than a small suitcase up on top of the cab in the designs I have seen so far...
The front window protector would be a NICE addition.
THANK YOU !! I just really want 2 pipes starting just above the grill to go up make the turn over the top of the windshield then angle to meet the top of the box so a limb would follow the pipe up and over the front of the box and have 6 or 8 crossbars2'' such 40 pipe is very stout for a rack. I am going to use 1'' or 1 1/4 for mine. I am sure you know this as you have obviously done a great job on your build.. welding included.
