B money
First off I want to say that it is nice to see someone your age interested in anything outside the house. Most kids your age don't seem to be interested or motivated in anything other than listening to crappy music and playing video games.
I have to agree with Gimpy and Rw as far as thinking through the whole Duece ownership thing or for that matter anything that you don't have room for at home. Most young male drivers don't always get good rates driving anything untill there in there late 20's early 30's.
We both have a love for the pony's. I still have my first car. 1966 mustang coupe.
Like you I lived at home when I bought it. I actually told my dad I wanted to by the car from them. He told me when I had saved up $1,000 he would sell it to me. Mind you this was 31 years ago now and I was 18. Well I went into my room and came out with 10 nice hundys and said here you go.
He was a man of his word and signed it over right there on the spot.
I dumped another $7,000 into during the next few months. Since then probably another $10,000.
Then came the HMMWV when I was 44.
Some times it's easy to get fixated on the shinny bobble or in your case the O.D bobble and we don't think it all the way through.
Good thing come to those that wait. Find somebody with one help work on it learn to drive one then see if it's what you really want. Look around for a local gathering of MV guys and go talk to them . Chances are you might just get to give one a spin. If after this it still something you just have to have then I'm sure you will be motivated to find away to get one eventually.
Remember there is more to life than O.D. metal , well ok not much but before you get married to O.D metal enjoy your last year as a teenager. Work hard and you never know? Don't force it if it's ment to be it will happen.
Take the time to chase a few skirts too. Ahh to be young again.
