For those who know me, know that in the last 4 months as luck would have it I had my civi truck in the dealership to have the front grill, hood and misc replaced due to 2 fender benders.
1st one was not my fault, the 2nd was. I has tooling around the shop and found a Warn receiver front Bull Bar for a 1996 Chevy Z71 I used to have. I had an epiphany to remake this for the Avalanche. The whole process minus the paint job took 4 hours.
I removed the factory tow hooks and fabed out a new bracket for both sides with 1/4" angle iron and 1/2" plate steel. I took the original bar apart and refitted it to the truck with the original tow hooks reinstalled. I welded every metal to metal contact and re braced as needed. I feel now the bar it 5 times stronger than the original.
I then sand blasted the Bar, primed and painted with rustolium textured paint. Flat black. Just throwing it out there for those who may be in need of added protection on the front of their trucks and these pictures may spark a few ideas. Peace Out..!
