Civilian 24 volt alternator install

So does the small wire with military connector hook to the hot / red connector on the civilian alternator ?

I think that wire stays disconnected. Not necessary with a 1-wire alternator. Only necessary for the OEM generator.

In the pic it looks like it’s connected to the same post as the number 2 wire but can’t really tell. The hot post. Per the wiring diagram that wire with the connector goes to the starter switch.
