Now that the seats are back in er - I can pedal around the neighborhood - was a bit** trying to pedal sitting on them there seat frames - put a notch in my rear.

YUP - thats the wifes jeep teasing her with the M43 window frames drying out in the back end of er - makes a good storage spot while waiting for the engine (at least that is what I tell her)(the engine is in the back of the 105 covered up).

Wait till the RCA mobile 45 record player gets installed on the bottom of the dash - I still have the plastic inserts for the 45's. Its the one with the chrome flip up front to access the 45's.

I had one of those and if I remember correctly, they skipped real easy. I sure hope you are going to soften the suspension in the 43.

I did have one yrs ago - it was pretty cool.

I would like to get the radio and antenna mount some day down the road for it.
With the windshields glass done and dried tonight I will get them masked off and painted.
Have to get my lazy butt going and get that cowl done once and for all and in primer by weekend along with getting on the roof "no matter what" it will be in primer by weekend.

While I am blasting the rear interior - those windows have to be filled in as well - while the blaster is out I will get up to the front wheel wells and get them done. The frame I can get from under the truck and from the floor being open. I have the paint (same color as the white for the underlayment of the Red Cross) with the hardner.

I will most likely pressure wash the frame first and get the little bit of goo off it before blasting. That little section in the engine compartment needs to be washed as well.

PB - those seats are just on with 4 bolts each and pretty much just wanted them out of the way - and give me something to cushion my far arse on while I work on the install of the windshields. My pucker poo is not what it use to be.

Don't worry though...I'll fix it, I'll swap em out tomorrow.

Unloading sand from my poor 96 Dodge Stratus trunk this morning - I use that car like I would an ole pickup - I abuse it bad and still clicking 225,000 plus miles on er.
Wonder If I can fit engine parts in it when I head to PB's ???? maybe if I remove the back seat ??

I think, if you get out the sawzall, you could cut it open to fit all the parts you want, including the whole engine in the backseat! Then you would have a convertible, for those hot Georgia temps, and the car would be lighter, so you could get better mpgs, or haul more weight in it. Then you would have a little beat up truck

I used POR-15 on my jeep frame and im vary pleased with how it turned out

When i picked it up at the welders i stopped by the car wash and gave it a good cleaning, It got blow dry on the way home , then i hit some of the loose spots with a cone wheel on the grinder. The info said you can paint right over rust but i wanted the loose stuff off. and Ashley painted it with a brush while I did the e-brake. Wair gloves this stuff is not nice to skin! I cant remember exactly the wording but it changes the rust as it cures! that last pick i shot the green up front to get in all the places that would be hard to get with the engine in.

Radiator recored and back.

Glass in the windshields - taped-papered-hung the limey B's on the linching pole and gave a good bath in paint. Let em sit out overnight there thinking about their wrong doings by turning into rust and to think about never doing that again..

AHHHHHHH the ROOF - what a royal PIA it is. Its primered-its painted along with the first layer of Red Cross insignia - then paint-then more paint-then more paint-then some stupid arse Red Cross plastic decal was stuck on which is the culprit from the peeling and taking underlayment up with it - then more paint on top of that - oh yes - and MORE paint on top of all of that.

Took out the 36 grit high speed sandpaper wheel and gave it a quick show em who's boss - leave it sit till another day so it can decide to come off easier when I get back on it this weekend.
When I get to it again I will kick in both air compressors and it will lick right off.

Was 122.6 degree's on the roof of the 43.

Got both windshields installed.
Some MORON stuck the seats in and he needs to remove the cowl vent to finish the front - I will have a serious discussion with him.

I dislike my pic being taken but Zout 2 gave me orders to post it - even to my dislike as she onlooks that I did it.

Roof - pretty much explains what I have to look forward to - got about 14 inches cut down tonight and still needs sanding over the entire area once I get done with this nonsence. No sence in attacking it if I cannot do it right the first time.

Thanks on the congrat's PB - that is all I can say about the details.

The debris on the roof would come off with a more proffesional sand blaster system with GOBS of air pressure - but I do not want to spend the budget on it nor want to spend the money out of budget for transport to and fro to one. Besides they just blast the living crap out of them and say - here - its done and let you fix all the gapping holes they blasted into them.


I feel better now.

I am satisfied I can do the roof right in this process even though it will take a little longer on labor. Most of the stuff up there is like duct tape - blasting would just richotet off it.

If I doubted you for a second Grasshopper...you wouldn't have that M43.

Zout, that roof looks like a walk in the park for a man of your talents. The knotted wire cup brush is the weapon I choose.

on the high speed sander I had 36 grit. A couple layers down under blue someone put that elastomeric crapola on it and there is a couple below layers of OD that are really goooooooooy like tar. Swipe the grinder head over it and it just spreads - but it is getting there.

Will go over it with the DA with 80 grit - add the rust converter - primer and move on.

Cowl needs primered
Roof cut down and will get out there early tomorrow morning to cut it down one more time. Sprayed rust converter on it to catch the surface stuff. Should have this into primer by noon.

So my neighbor comes over that some of you met at the roast and is curious as to what I was doing - so he wanted a shot at it. Same time one of my grandsons comes down and up the ladder and just had to take that time to mess around. Seeing as it was bumping 122 degrees neither stayed up there very long.
