Hi,

I bought a military tachometer on ebay and Im trying to figure out how to wire it to my HMMWV. I read some place that you could wire it to the rpm sender under the doghouse and someone says on the hmmwvs with dual alternator you hook it up to the alternator connectors. But where do I hook them up on the alternator?

This type : https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-HUMVEE...089772?hash=item3fc9e3cf2c:g:7lYAAOSwgs5cgRMg

Can someone help me?

From Zeke

The ebay listing says you use the ste-ice tachometer sensor on the oil pump drive so where is your confusion?

Thats a different Tach on the PDF...if yours has the screww terminal buss bar...it hooks to the tach drive.
The PDF tach drawing is the later round connector Tach hook up.

I think what everyone is trying to tell you is that tach does not connect to the alternator, so the question is why are you not using the instructions that came with the tach, and why are you so set on connecting it to the alternator?
