I am looking at a 931a2 with a bad engine. How much will a 8.3 cost me? Does anyone have one for sale? Just checking to see what an engine will cost before I pull trigger on tractor.

Typical cost of a full running replacement 6CTA8.3 is in the range of $1000-$4000, depends upon how patient you are. Good boy on asking before you buy. May be cheaper and for sure less work to pass and find another running truck, price dependent of course. I don't have a list of the $1000 engine suppliers, but they do come and go over time, though I am always asked who they are, I'll leave the market to decide that.

Don't forget transportation costs of the engine too, even if local. Would a 3/4 ton pickup be able to haul a complete engine? I'll bet its a hefty load for one...

What's "bad" about it? Did it pee on the carpet? The C is just like the NH, unless it is holed/ has block damage or has a spun bearing/broken crank, they are easily repaired in chassis.
