It definitely was somewhere with mud and loose soil...stuff is on every flat surface that can't be easily hit with a pressure washer. Also has a nice coat of black CARC paint over most of the crap thanks to Alfa.

Here ya go:

Organization: 878TH ENGINEER BATTALION
Location: AUGUSTA, GEORGIA

Nomenclature:TRUCK UTILITY 3/4TON Model:M1009 NSN:2320011232665
Serial Number:J4GF145198 Registration Number:NF0HK9 Year of Mfg:1986
Manufacturer:93219 Contract Number:DAAE07-82-C-4060
Usage Miles: 61940 at time of turn in. You must have gotten this recently since it appears to have been processed out in August 2007.

I think the 878th is a GA Army National Guard unit.

Hope that helps

It does very much indeed. Thank you!!!

I noticed the milage doesn't match up. The seller is claiming 33,178. He is the 1st private owner of the vehicle and may have rolled the dial. Augusta, GA to Miami, FL is a reasonable area of operation. I can believe that it made the trip. It's nice to know that someone was using it in the spring.

Should be able to check for a rollback based on the SF97 if he passed it on. Since it is a fairly new sale maybe through DRMO/GL. Might be leverage to get some money back. Then again, the mechanic inputting this info may have done the fat finger and punched it in all wrong.

I will probably be able to get in touch with the 878th and see if they have thier maintainance logs still. If they do I can probably get copies.

It should have the milage listed in their PMCS.

Medlog,

guess i might as well jump on the bus here! (not that it matters, but maybe good to know?)

VIN: 1GCGD34J6FF323434

usa# NG1B8T

My curiousity is piqued, recently retired...26 yrs of service total, 20 federal time (AGR) with a Loggie and Ordinace background. Imagine you're utilizing wherever the "-6's" eventually get archived??

Happy holidays!

Eric

Pretty old info from 1985. Not sure who it went to after it left this unit but I seriously doubt this unit had it past 1990 or 91. No record of who it went to or who turned it in.

Medlog,

Thanks for the info! Just put the trk on the road today. Had a slight glitch, but got through it! VIN shows the vehicle as being a 85, yet trk was titled as a 84. (IIRc it was a a late 84 build according to the data plate)I already knew this, but my insurance co picked up on that, and i divulged this to DMV first thing when i got to the counter. Was expecting a hassle, but guess they must have been in the xmas sprit!

Thanks for the onfo

Eric

Gonna ask you to send me a pm on this. I'm up over my head with getting things in place for a possible move. Gonna have to give me a few weeks here. I'll try to get to it earlier but I also don't want this thread to die out and I can't find the info again or my advanced age leads me to the ever so common CRS.

Here's what I got

Nomenclature:TRUCK CARGO 1-1/4T Model:M1008A1 NSN:2320011232671
Serial Number:J9EF342798 Registration Number:NG1692 Year of Mfg:1984
Manufacturer:93219 Contract Number:DAAE07-82-C-4060
The unit was most likely the 2 Battalion, 82 Field Artillery Regiment although it is also possible it belonged to 1st Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment. The data is screwed up and there is no way to tell.

To Medlog, thanks for the information. I had a small window of time and I needed that information. I just happened to come across this post and the truck was looking to go fast. I've decided to jump in to the CUCV arena, and I'm glad to be here and will post up some more info once I get the truck back to my house.

To emmado22, thanks for the posting protocol update.
