They are around, but Ive rarely seen them for sale.
most are either still in use, OR totally trashed or snatched up by other agencies instead of auction ( VFD's, SO, Police etc)

there are a lot of LEASED vehicles being utilized in the cirrent conflicts so that takes the place of the need for CUCV type vehicles, a lot of 1009, 1008s are being chewed up in Iraq and other places as NTV ( Non Tactical vehicles)
so the motor SGT is driving it on base for errands VS off the FOB on missions, where some armor is preffered!
shoot, even some armored hummers don't ever make it outside the wire.
