cucv rear plate tag light

Just got my first m1028 when i took it to get it inspected he told me i needed a tag light on the rear. i was just wondering if someone could tell me the best way to do this without removing the hook. right now my tag is just in my rear window. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

You could bolt it to the bumper and use a light like this one , look like it mount to the same holes ( you would need to drill the bumper) as the plate.

That looks a lot better than what i found witch i'd have to drill about a inch hole for.

Mine is stuck to the rear gate with neodymium magnets.

Drove about 1,200 miles last year and the plate never moved. Plus, I didn't have to muck up the truck with extra holes.

I just bought a simple mount from an auto store and came with a plastic light housing . ($15) wired to the running light. Works great

I used a light like this and painted it green. I think they called it a map light in the generic electrical section at the auto parts store.

You could mount a trailer tag holder under the bumper

I drilled 2 1/4 holes to mount on bumper and used a motorcycle led light that just goes into one of the holes. I wired to the parking lights.

Here's what I did A good bit of work but it's inset, out of the way, and not getting snagged constantly. I used (2) 1/4" thick L-brackets butted together to form the bottom and sides and a some 16-gauge plate for the back. As for lights I just used a pair of those hotrod LED lighted top bolts and spliced into the drivers side tail light harness.

i just bought this from Amazon. I only used the top bolts. I mounted it on the bumper on the drivers side. I held it tight to the tow/ lifting shackle. It covered most of the blackout light. Stole power from the brown wire going to the tail light.

The Canadian army has plates on all vehicles , the bracket was fitted to the rear bumper support on the driver's side , that places the plate just under the rear of the truck and does not block the B/O lights or any other equipment,

Thats what i'd like to do but in VA i need a light.

My light AND plate are stuck to the gate with magnets. It looks a bit sloppy, but I can pop it off at car shows.

The light is a LED light I had a friend rig up on a metal plate.

I used a 4 LED light on Amazon then connected it to my trailer connector on the truck.

Our solution in FL was to change the law. Now we don't need no stinkin plates (displayed).
