cucv reg numbers

I am here in jacksonville, nc, retired Marine, I are a grunt so please exscuse any typos as this isntmy strong suit, no door to kick down or triger to pull..... Any how my cucv is a '85 1008 it has the regestration numbers NY1NG2, does that meen it came from Ny national gaurd?

no that is the the Army vehicle number, like a plate number to the national Maintance point.

Not tracking, its on the doors and on the plate in the door jam,we hade/ have what i called tac numgers on our vehicals like gun trucks usely on bumpers or hoods seemed like they were some part of the vin, now keep in mind i am a 03 not MT so that may not be correct, so what amI looking for toleed me towhatunitthe truck camefrom.....

wow oldsouthernboy just noticed you sre from jacksoville,All, 1st off hope you made it threw the storms ok, I got out for a couple of years after the 1st gulf war and went to school there at JSU, got to missing the corp and went back. got people up the road in the Ft Payne area on booth mountains they got hit hard, thank good no one in my derict family got hurt....more rambling sorry

the bridge plate on the gril hass a C (in orange maybe) above a 6 9, pasengers side of the front bumper is AJ7 on the drivers side is 15-10. numbers are covered on back bumper on both doors in the center is the regestration number NY1NG2 (wich matchs the data plate in the door jam) on nthe drivers door neer the mirror is a 23 (motor pool vehical number? it is a sticker)...any whay would like to have some idea were the old horse served,
