Cuff em Dano

Not really cuffs, or even zip ties, but rather shackles. I haven't been able to find the difference in working load limit and break strength of the HMMWV's U-shaped and tear drop-shaped shackles. Is one preferred over the other for recovery, towing or lifting?

The advantage of the teardrops, in my opinion, is that they pivot horizontally and vertically so they line up with whatever you're pulling. The original U-shaped shackles only pivot up and down. That said, I've pulled some downed trees out of a friend's acreage that were 36" around (the whole tree, not limbed up al all) and had no issues pulling them from the front (U-shaped) or rear (teradrops on my airlift bumper).

Not official load numbers, but I think since you can hang a HMMWV from the teardrops, you're unlikely to hurt them pulling.
