After recovery and getting the Redstone Deuce started, we found one of the cyclinder sleeves had shattered and fallen down into the oil pan.
So, time to put in a new engine. Found one here on SS from wildboy6x6, who just needed rid of it.
Being in Georgia, I knew I had to call on the esteemed services of the deuce doctor CLINTO.
Here are a few pics, out with the bad in with the good.
I'm sorry if you can't see the truck...it's camouflaged.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

The weather was perfect for this, notice Dan in a t-shirt-in February!

While we had the powerpack out, we degreased and pressure washed the engine compartment and under the cab since this would be the best time to do it. The engine he got is spotless and hopefully will be a good runner. It looks new, the clutch and pilot bushing literally do not look like they've ever been used.

Should make some good headway this week-we pulled the engine out with the trans & PTO attached, but put it back in with the engine alone-I'll hang the transmission one night after work this week.

Woohoo!

Looks like somebody hit a large deer with that bumper.
Pete
Sadly, whatever it was took out the fender as well. Before that it was a cherry (straight, rust free) fender.

Got trans in today. Cold!
