Hello All

I am looking for a "Special Forces" Short Fording exhaust tailpipe for my M998. At least that is what the Guy called it.

I saw a picture of a used one for sale down south which I missed. It terminated just above the bracket that bolts to the body. It is significantly shorter than the standard version, but significantly longer that the stock tailpipe. It looked exactly like what I have installed just shorter. I want to get my M998 into my garage, hence the inquirer. I am 1" too tall in its present configuration. Go figure! lol.

Just for general knowledge (i'm a newbie) Does this even exist? Hard to argue with a picture though. Thanks for listening!

that is probably a super rare hen's tooth......as most sf were not deep fording
Good morning All,

My GS left last night and I tried putting the M998 in the Garage for the first time and it fit! Just barley, but it did. No further assistance needed. Probably the first time that Humvee ever was in a Garage! LOL.

Thanks for the help and have a great weekend!

That shorter fording exhaust is meant for the HMMWV Front Line Ambulance variant, per the -24P. If you do a search for the Part # there are 2 sellers with them in stock.

Thanks Crapgame! Would you be able to provide me the part number or point me to the Seller's? Sorry for the extra request. I'm new top the Humvee family and I'm still getting my legs under me.

Thanks again!

They are a vendor now also on ss.

I have bought from them previously and very satisfied. They also tend to have a lot of inventory no one else has.
good folks

Thank you kind Sir!!!!!
Only call me Sir if you spell it C-U-R. And you have to get comfortable with reading the Parts TMs, myself I have digital and hard copies, my brain can find stuff faster in the analog method vs the PDF format.

That Supplemental Fording Exhaust, I don't know whether the Amberlamps had a different max authorized fording depth or perhaps the larger Ambulance Body causes the truck to float, but that Part # is definitely designated for the Front Line Ambulances not GMV.

A couple of the 7SFG GMV I see have the full length fording exhaust, perhaps with Central/South America as their AO, having to contend with seasonal flooding throughout the Amazon Basin make it worth using.

I don't remember where I got these from, someone saw a truck on a flatbed at a rest stop and took some pictures. Don't know if it was someone's personal rig being hauled, or just being shipped. (doesn't look properly tied down for transport to me, I would expect another set of chains at the rear of the truck to secure it)

This one is kind of blurry, but almost looks like the shorty exhaust is on the sling load diagram for the truck.

HummerPartsPro is showing the part number but the site appears to be down, can't get the price.
So has anyone installed this version and have any pictures? Also does it line up and use the same mounting points as the tall version?
