This is not entirely true. Water carries more heat than water/ antifreeze mix. "A mixture of 60% ethylene glycol to 40% water by weight will be about 75% as efficient as water at 25C." However, as you indicate, that is not the only variable. Freeze protection and corrosion prevention are factors. A second is increased boiling point (though that can actually be a negative depending on design). I am sure that there are others.SCA and coolant doesn't matter what the outside temps are.You gotta have it.Antifeeze as everyone calls it actually helps cool engines better than water.Plus if you use straight water it will just rust the engine out from the inside.Antifeeze/Coolant has chemicals to stop oxidation
