According to the merger paperwork, the AM Generals weren't called that until 1971. 1969 was the last year for the Kaiser Jeep trucks. That leaves 70 in a cloud. American General and General Products were 2 names that have come up in 70 but as you can see, you can assign years and mfrs of these trucks as you wish, for the most part. My first 1981 AM was registered as a 1975 in GA then a 1971 here in FL. I still wonder about the origins of my 1973 AM General M275A2. Everything I can find on the tractors indicates that their most recent production run was in 1966 by Kaiser Jeep. Who Knows. Now my M108 info is exactly right. VIN on frame matches VIN on data plate and its factory stamped and says 1953 Stude all over it.

This truck has warranty tag on the dash from AM General dated 11-85. It has a tag in the glovebox that says it was rustproofed 11-85 with materials from Chrysler Corp. The manufacture date on the tag on the hardtop is 2-86. So it must have been manufactured or rebuilt 11-85???
