Does anyone have a 3d CADD CAD model of the Deuce?

Hi Guys, I know this thread will only be of interest to a very few people but I was just wondering if any of the other tech geeks or office dwellers here have ever found or drawn a 3D Cad model of the deuce. I dont own a deuce yet or i'd draw one myself.
I'm trying to get a model of Preferably the M35A3 or M36A3 but would love to even get a model of the M109A3 or M35A2. Like many folks I'm looking to do the ever popular camper conversion. With the M109A3 getting harder to find for a reasonable price, I'm thinking if I'm going to spend more than I originally wanted then I may as well do it the way I would like and get a M35A3 or M36A3 and either build a camper or buy a slide in. (just so I already have the super singles, and dual circuit brakes.) But regardless what I get having the 3D model will make it easier to design add ons and make sure they work before I actually do it.
I work with Solidworks software but can probably convert about any 3d file you may have (if it exists). igis stepp step autocad inventor pro e wildfire SDRC are all files I could work with.

I'm a project guy and always like having something to work on. It appears that around me the M36a3 sell for the same as a M35a3 so the pipe dream would be to do a quad cab M36A3 with a home built primitive camper / over cab unit (nice but not with all the fancies that the truck campers come with and a little better built). I fully realize this isnt a practical project but its a "fun" project that can eventually be enjoyed by the whole family who loves to camp.

I was thinking about doing one for an M35A2 with scale measuremets and interactive exploded views of every component. But I don't have the months of research and hundreds of hours of time required to draw it... I think it would be nice to see it done though. (as long as I don't hafta do it)

Thanks there General! If No one has a model and I end up starting from scratch this will be an excellent start to get the basic form. I wont need anything too detailed anyway, just want the basics. There always seems to be some guy with every hobby though that has spent the time to go overboard on modeling his interest up.....I'm hoping to run across that guy for the duece

I wonder how coreltrace would do with that sketch now days. Back in my day, Coreldraw and it's vector graphics was one of my favorite tools. I just ordered CoreldrawV today, which has coreltrace as part of it. I would hate to have to do that thing in Autocad. The amount of hours would be unbelieveable, but with coversion packages, should not be anywhere near as difficult as in the past. good luck with it. Hope you make your work available to all SSers' I would love to see it when done.

Well,
You could just get one of the AFV M35 plastic deuce kits (and if you can't find the M35A2 kit, get the M49 tanker truck kit and build it as a start). The M36, with a 17 foot bed would give you a lot more room. I have an S-280 that's going on my M36 one day. It will have 26 inches of clearance in the front, and 41 inches of clearance in the back. Room for a civvy 5kw diesel generator in the front, and a back porch at the rear. YMMV

Don't know if this will help get things started or not, but it's worth taking a look at. If you contact some of the artists below, they might hand over their work to you. Not sure what software you intend to use, but it might be converted.

Did you look down in the Models & Scale Replica's forum? You might be more likely to find that info there.

I did a search down there a while back and found a lot of stuff related to scale models and etc of the Deuce.

Maybe you could get a kindly mod to move this thread down there to see if you get any bites.

I never did a full model. So far I've just modeled the items I've made for my 109a3 (new aluminum window blackout covers/blinds, Generator tray between winch bumper and passenger fender, and the interior of the 109 box to figure out best use of space for the camper). I did find some 3d models online of some older trucks, and some A3s, but they werent very accurate looking. About the best I have come across so far is a great model of a blitz style Jerry can from 3dcontentcetnral.com . If you start a model keep us informed. perhaps we can split some of the work up with different members. (some doing van boxes, axles, cargo boxes, cabs, etc).

The reason I asked is I just bought an A3 and am now playing the EUC waiting game. I wanted to play with a model and look at bobbing/lfiting it and seeing what a roll bar would look like on it. Where was the best place to find the models of the A3. Thanks for the help!

solidworks or inventor would be good for this, as you can create assemblies and such. thus making it easier to click on seperate parts for lookin at

Agreed...that was the plan. Even if I had to make one of just the frame and piece it together from there...

that would be better. that way, you can , depending on the program youre running, you can make blueprints really easy. plus i think it looks better if you do separate parts, as you can change the appearance of each part. if i had the cash id get inventor, but its to pricey for not having any real end use for it

I love it. I got the student edition through school for $80 and it can do some amazing stuff. Probably the best thing about it though is we have access to the CNC waterjet, foam prototyper, lathes and rapid pvc prototypers. I wish they had a CNC plasma.

I think any program we use these days would work well. Most programs we use we can save 3D models to a generic .STEP or .IGS file and nearly any modeling program can open them from those formats. Regarding the M35A3 models I said I saw, they were actually video game 3d models... they really looked good, but you would have to scale them up and I'm sure they werent proportionally correct but they did look good..... I never downloaded them however since all the ones I found were in the $80 plus range to download.

same here. I just started building my model from the frame up. When I get one I can measure I can update it in the parts and it should will fix the assembly. If I ever get it complete I'll be sure to share
