That is way more effort than needed. The handles go bad. Take it off and find a replacement. I have a good take off if you can't find one.

As far as the door latch goes, Are you sure you don't have it in the locked position inside? If your doors are solid(little rust) I would think about trying to fix it. I broke a few bolts when removing mine. If you need some parts for yours I might have them. PM me.

I agree. Leave the door on the truck if it is rust free and fix the window/latch mechanism. It isn't that tough. I went through 4 sets of used hinges before I found a set that I could actually get apart and put back together again. Plus the broken screws that RJ wrote about.

Thanks JT, I figured out the door handle. I hammered down the tab that it turns against and it works fine now. I will dig into the window soon. I would bring it down but it is apart right now ( putting a new IP in) While I am at it I am going to install a M151 heater and a tank style engine heater. Just waiting for some more wiring and some searching on where to hook up the hoses to the engine. I also am going to create a heated arctic battery box and install in the cab.

I hope to be down soon for the hard top when I get the ok to continue work at the school:roll:
