I have a M915 that is supposed to have a 12/24 alternator, but the previous owner decided to convert to all 12v instead. He installed a 12v starter, 12v paralleled batteries, 12v alternator, and then ran for the tall grass, screaming. That's how I got it. I completed the job by just tying the 12v and 24v circuits together. Now, all that is not right is the 24v lighting circuits that go out the back of the cab to a mil trailer, if I chose to pull one. The simple solution to that is to buy a 12v to 24v up-converter (MPJA.com has them) and splice it into the trailer light circuit.
What this does is just eliminate the need for that uber-expensive dual voltage alternator. I have been running this setup for a couple of years and no problems at all.
