I would think wider tires are better for sand not ice. thinner tires with chains would be better to cut through the ice but maybe Im wrong 1100 are also easier to change and cost less. at the mud hole the thinner tires cut through the mud 1100s are also not as tall so you get less clearance

I found another thread with pics explaining how to flip the hubs. Seems time consuming but worth it.
The first one is the most time consuming because it is the first time. The last one is quick and easy.
