So nobody has a tape measure or the time to measure the rear most tire rack hanger bolt from the frame flange to the end? WOW. I guess I get inventive. Find one in my cache of parts. Thanks for nothing. Day light is burning I am out for a while. Have a great day. CUCV's are lined up waiting for me. Not a one with a tire rack under them.

I am guessing that you can get to all the bulbs from the front of the gauge cluster without pulling it all the way out? I have some lights that our out and others that work and then don't work. Can this be fixed without pulling the gauge cluster all the way out. Was going to try to get the bulbs fixed today, but I need to drive the truck by 4 this evening.

I have success both ways. You must be careful. The clusters are very crisp and fragile. Age does that to things. I know first hand. I wear Kevlar gloves to work. But I have been highly successful changing all the bulbs with the cluster still in the dash. It may be all loose but not being twisted and slightly forced in and out of the dash. That is a poor fit to say the least. Don't risk it and handle it like a broken egg shell and you will be OK. To aid in moving around the cluster. I sometimes remove/unplug the speedo cable. And when I have everything working I plug it back in. Hope that helps. And thank you all for your support on the MV of the month. Happy Holidays.

An hour after it was at the alignment shop I received a phone call. The man at the shop said a man was inquiring about the truck. He ask if he could give the guy my number. I said sure. The man called me and said he was interested. Asked what I wanted for it. I gave him a Buy it Now price he said a 4 letter word. SOLD. I said OK. Show me some money. He ask I replied. I received a follow up call yesterday for more info name VIN. At this point I do think it is gone. But I will still say pending. I was away at work from 0500-1700 today. No phone with me. Left it in the work truck and came home with out it again. I never had a chance to go pick up the M1008. I will make it my goal by the weekend. Never made it to a listing. So I still say pending. When I have CASH I will report.
Easter Find finally embarked on her new mission and a new LZ. She headed North but not to Canada. She is now sitting in my LZ in Central NY, waiting for her new marching orders. She took the 255 mile trip today running at her sweet spot of 63 mph most all the way with out missing a beat. I had several folks checking it out at the rest stop. Thank you Rick for such a fine job. But there was one thing, why didn't you tell me the front hubs were locked? I didn't notice till I arrived home. But even with them locked She still managed 12 mpg.

Oh yea. I did take it for a run with the hubs locked in. That was when I was checking it out in final QA and filling the fuel tank. I like to find annoying vibrations. You should have no vibrations with the hubs locked or unlocked. I am glad it satisfies you. I was happy with the results and eager to pass on the finished product. Enjoy it and take care of it please. Or destroy it and abuse it. Either way it's your truck and has served well thus far. Let me know if I can assist in any way. Thank you. Feedback is being posted. You bought a fine truck from a fine seller. I bought my 1028 from Rick. It was beatup but run perfect. I rebuilt the truck and now use all the time. Rick helped out with parts I needed after the sale. Great guy to deal with. Brian G.

Brian good to hear that the Dude is still up and running. It was a long tough life for the Dude M1028A1 but it always came thru. It was driven east coast to west coast 2 times and I drove it about 20 time to Fort Polk and tow barred CUCV's home. When I bought that truck it had less then 2000 miles on it. Ran it hard all them years. Towing, Logging, Hauling everything that was to heavy and dirty to haul in a nice truck and it always shined like a diamond. Towards the end I parted with it because I had to many vehicles and no where to park them. I loaned that truck to every friend and relative I have. Never failed. 100% stock in every way. Glad you are happy with it. All the work you done to refurbish it paid off. Just goes to show that they do hold up even with Autozone replacement parts.

I sanded epoxy sealed and painted them. I will get them in the mail to you Sir. Been having a busy season at work and keep getting mowers that need work. All is well. 1 down 1 million to go. Take care and have a Great Day. I hope the D rings suit you. I did not want to throw a beat up pair in a box and mail them to you. The M1008 deserves better.

It don't ride like a new 1500 Silverado but I think it rides great. I just had to fine tune the tire air psi down to 45 lbs and it smoothed out our upstate secondary country roads. You get on the primary roads at any speed you don't notice any ride issues. I even think it rides better than my 1009. Keep in-mind I haven't had a chance to test with any type of load in her yet but I'm confident I will be pleasantly surprised.

Speaking of my 1009, I should send her down to to get it cucvrus-ed before you retire out to your new Grand-Kid sitting business.

I need a pair of rear clevis for my 1008. You wouldn't know where to find any would you? Thanks
