There is a 10k Mep on ebay 230458810389. From my experience the vented side cover means 400Hz. I contacted the seller with no response yet. Make sure you always check before purchasing one that it is 60Hz. They also don't mention the fuel tank is missing.

no worse than GL

Sounds like some of the GL listings.

I've seen MEP113A's listed as MEP103A's, unless the pictures are wrong -- I've seen that too. One GL auction that ended yesterday listed an MEP002a or MEP003a (I forget which one, CRS strikes again), but the picture was a 6.2L GM V8 engine on a pallet.

Since there is no link to the auction and I'm too lazy to look for it...LOL I'll say this much. The TM lists the vented AC reconnection box cover as being used on the 400 Hz generators ONLY. If the guy stalls in answering or doesn't answer, that's why. he probably got screwed because he didn't know what he was buying and now he's hoping to screw someone else.

Listen to you Mr Skeptical. He could just want to pass on a fabulous deal to someone else.

Nah, who am I kidding...

Yikes, thanks for the heads up, I was kind of watching that one. I had no clue that the 003A's came in 400 hz, I guess you learn something new all the time.

If it were a MEP-003a it would have to be 60 hz, but he does not say what model it is in the ad. He also does not include any specs or a photo of the data plate.

I personally think the seller is aware of what he has and is just hoping someone takes it off his hands. His feedback is good but when you read the comments there are several problems that he quickly corrected,

Ebay's feedback is a little shady also. The guy has one negative and a neutral feedback in the last year. Looks like poor communication is a theme with this seller.

I asked the same question as everyone else of this seller - as well as telling him how to figure out whether it is a 60 or 400 Hz unit.

As expected, no reply.

Agreed with the buyer should be aware, but the world is filled with people who make assumptions and then when things go wrong with those assumptions seek to blame others. That is one of the reasons that eBay has its sometimes odd rules on selling and buying! Unfortunately eBay's rules make it easier for buyers who don't check carefully to just screw the seller. (Not saying the seller in question is being honest or forthright, as I think he is omitting information that is vital to a buyer...)

Yeah, much like another generator (non MEP) I saw listed on ebay last night, it looked like a potential good deal for someone at its buy it now price. Of course no where in the ad did it list how many hours were on the unit, or even if it runs.
