I've heard, don't know, maybe some of the more erudite scholars here will, that a MRAP will run about 80 mph. Can the MK23 be flashed to remove the speed limiter? Not that I want to go 80 mph, but for example having a little extra kick perhaps in a passing situation.

No, you’re not limited by power, but gearing. The max safe RPM for a caterpillar C12 is 2100 rpm at 65mph anything higher and you will sling a rod among other things. These trucks are RPM governed and will automatically defuel at 2100

Only way to increase speed is to swap the Transfer case from the 30000 series to the 55000 series.

This increases the top speed by 25mph.

30000 case is a 1.36:1 single speed
55000 case is .98 high 2.66 low.

It is a direct replacement swap.

I'm assuming the case is air shifted? Is it a HEMTT part? And, I'm scared to ask how much they cost.....

Air shifted case. Requires a simple dash flip switch.

Few have sold new in the crate on govplanet for 1200 to 1600 in recent weeks.

Mount brackets for the frame are the same, etc. You just loose AWD which will save some fuel.

55000 cases are used in 916/917A1 and newer models, HEMTTs, first generation HETs, Oshkosh snowplow.

This swap is much cheaper than what the LMTV owners pay to gain a less amount of speed.
