Electrical problems - AGAIN

Well, all of a sudden, I don't have lights - head light, tail light, brake lights, running lights, and turn signals - plus no horn.

Heater works. Windsheild wiper works.

Go figure.

All fuses appear ok. I'll be replacing them all shortly. But I ASSUME it's either the light switch on the lower left side of the dash. OR the wiring harness under the steering wheeel.

I've got to go down to Ft Carson to pick up an auction I won of Camo Net support poles so I'll be out of pocket for several hours.

I'll check back as soon as I get back.

Turn the service switch on next to the head light switch .

It is EASY to forget the service light/blackout light switches! More than once I've been working on the M1009 and suddenly none of my lights work. I think "Rats, what did I screw up?" Oh yeah. I hit the switch with my (hand, knee, tool etc)...

Mine had same problem. Was a combination of a dirty oxidized fuse and a loose fuse socket.

service switch IS in the 'on' position. first thing I checked.

That's why I asked. I'm probably going to remove that.

But, even if it was the service switch, WHY no horn?

Dang man, my arms and back are killing me. I just finished unloading 2000 lbs of camo net support poles (32 sets - 60 lbs each).

I'm gonna look at the fuse block really close tomorrow. We're going on display on Saturday.

Fortunately, I can drop it off in the morning and then pick up the next morning.

All during daylight hours.

One 30 amp fuse controls all the service lights. Including the head lights.

Well, I've got an emery board to clean up the fuse holders and new fuses are in order anyway...

I know you said it's not the switch but just for an FYI the horn won't work either unless your service light switch is on.

Now all I gotta do is FIND my spare switches. I know they are around here somewhere.

That and a clean up of the fuse box with an emery board and a complete new set of fuses seems to be in order.
