I'm going to be working too late today to head up there tonight, so what time is the convoy from the ranch to the restaurant ? (C&J Barbeque 1010 S. Texas Ave, Bryan ? Right?) I may end up heading right to the restaurant on Saturday.

You guys will be missed and we will schedule another event, hopefully this summer.

 I was really looking forward to the weekend, meeting the folks I only know by screen names, seeing the ones I do know and having a good chat with all of yez. Very disappointed. I know Scott/Reloader is too, he and I were going to convoy up together.

Work reeeeeeeally cuts into my play time!!
Still, I count my blessings to be working, I know a lot of the guys on here are having a tough time.

Anyway, you folks have a ball and take/post lots of pictures.
Tim, I'll see you in Temple. Maybe my toy will be finished this time....

Cheers

Would someone mind giving a bit more exact directions to this place? Google maps was wrong and mapquest isn't that specific. Also the dark doesn't help any so an entrance description would help also. Thanks.

Heading down University Drive towards Easterwood Airport, pass it and two lanes will veer off to the right which becomes 47. Stay on 47 heading towards Hwy 21 (which takes you to Caldwell) and keep an eye on the intersection with Villa Maria. Do not exit there, but the very next crossover is the one you need. Get on the cross over but do not u-turn. Instead across 47 from that point is the entrance. There is a small tower and should be some semblance of a sign there with a gate. If locked contact nofearnohope at that point.

I heard the sheriff will be escorting them from BVORR at 11:30 so that way they'll be there at noon.

Preparing to go to work. (Checking SS first). All I can think is, "What beautiful weather for camping out in the deuce". You guys have fun, and, as Rory said, take/post lots of pictures.

Thats what I thought. It was next to impossible to see any sign or tower at night. I'll give NFNH a call if thats the case.

Thanks

What a great group of guys and gals. Andrew and I really had a great time. Except for the 42* night!

Sorry we bailed before the "lets-see-how-deep-this-mud-pit-is" operation. Happy winching...

Thanks to everyone who showed up and made this a great first rally. I hope to see more next time and hope everyone had a great time. Wehring, you definately missed a fun time with my mud bogging tryout. :-D

everything works

And thanks to the mud bogging excursion (and Barman) I now know that everything on my truck works ! I'd already gotten a chance to try out the front axle drive and low range for real on the trails, the winch was the last thing on the list. Of course, now I get to practice the post workout PMs...

A great weekend ! (if a little chilly overnight...)

Thanks

After talking with several of the guys this weekend, I think we are going to continue to have this at the Brazos Valley Off Road Ranch and set it up for the same weekend as the Museum of the American GI openhouse, that is located just a few miles south of town. I will get with the museum to get a more exact date for next year's show. My wife let me know that I have decided to try and get a trip together down to Angleton for a beach campout with Wehring. We just need to see who all is interested and pick a date.

One unique item this park had was a truck wash. Actually, it was a big water hole with a gravel bottom. Since the park used to be a gravel quarry, it kind of makes sense though. We got our tires, rims, axles and frames all covered in mud playing and then were able to drive through the wash. The water was up to the running board on the 9.00 tired M35's and just below the rocker panels on my 11.00 tired M715. We all came out with clean tires which made tie downs on the trailer a lot easier to put on.

I didn't get any pictures. Sorry. Lincoln went back through it at night with his super bright LED headlighted M35 to try and get the packed in goo out from between his duals. I think he got it all cleaned up. Pretty neat feature for an off road park to have in my opinion.
