I think I found the culprit to the leak on the transmission. This little culprit was dropped into the bottom of the plastic receiver, (from whoever worked on it previously) so the gear shift didn't sit all the way in, and tore up the plastic sleeve. Thank goodness it didn't drop into the transmission, and tear it up. We'll see if this stops the leak. It's hard to believe that this steal pin was worn out, and needed to be replaced with only 675 hours on the machine. It must have been a lot of reverse and forward shifting.
I haven't been in as deep as you have but I believe that sleeve is common wear item. I think Scott at EI has one listed (but I have not checked the part numbers!)Not so sure about the pins

Are you sure you really want that rubber boot? If so, someone found them for sale several dozen posts back, at a mere $3XX.00 if memory serves me.

WOW... looks like some foam fill....
Of course its expensive for this little rubber piece. So we use our boot again after tilting the cap. But.... its no desert here and so it works.
Hey y´all unimog, metric wrench, narrowness construction victims... have a look at MV of the month April at Members Ride thread where you can vote from 8 !!! nominations.
(75.000 SS members).
I would be pleased to see one off from the Flu419 enthusiast at the poll.campain 406.145 018.jpg

Mine did not work. The vent hole on the actuator cylinder had been painted over. When you actuate 4 wheel drive switch while watching the cylinder, it went in, then back out as the air went by the packings. Chipped off the paint and it works perfect. The cylinder can be seen from the driver side looking under the back of the cab somehow. Don't quite remember.

ok... need some serious help.....
spent 1 hr chasing the air lines on my 419 unimog... cause the 4x4 was not working...
this is what I found... now either the manual is completely wrong,
or someone seriously was smoking crack when they replaced the regulator...
as ya can see the reg was changed out, (different color .. and bolts different color)...
now the air lines are different sizes, but in the manual, there the same..
and back differential air lines are marked in white marker "vent"...
leads me to believe they too were switched out.....HELP...
sooo whats is IMG_2164.JPGIMG_2163.JPGcorrect ..??? the manual... or the way it's hooked up now???

Kinda wanted these hydraulic post drivers, but not for the price they went for today :( . Maybe a lot more of these will come available and a man can get one at a reasonable price
