You're braver than I am. A friend has tried letting movie people use his vehicles, and it did not end well.

I keep getting requests for using some of my cars in films, but decline...even if I'm the only one allowed to drive them. Sure hope it works out for you.

That's something I hadn't considered before... that people might want to use the SEE in movies, etc. But yeah, I'd be leary about it like you.

I'm still here, BTW, in case anyone wondered (I'm sure they didn't). I'm watching the thread. I just haven't had anything to add lately, especially since we're still in limbo in this damn rental for another couple of months. The real fun won't start until I have the SEE out on my own land.

so my leak was not a real leak. The air line to the hub had a tear in it. I guess there's some gear oil that moves through the 4 wheel drive side of air system? I patched it up and no more oil. My next problem will be adressing the pto pump. It has started to leak but I can't tell where from. I believe tilting the cab is in my future. View attachment 921337

If you tilt the cab, can you document that process? I've seen a few times where people did it, but I'm still not 100% on all the steps. I don't need it yet, but I'm not fooling myself - we'll all have to do it at some point I'm sure and the more documentation the better.

I'm very new to owning an SEE, so I'm reticent to offer information for fear of being wrong, but just from my general knowledge of how things work, I don't believe there should be any oil anywhere in the pneumatic lines.

If you were seeing something leaking from the pneumatic hose(s), I think it's one of two things - either condensation (water), or possibly alcohol. There is a small filler cap on the passenger side of the vehicle up top next to the backhoe seat. Alcohol is added into the pneumatic system through this cap to prevent freezing in cold temps.

If I am wrong, I'm sure I will be corrected shortly.

Keep in mind, there are set of front pivot brackets required to lift the cab, they act as hinges. There are also prop rods required to hold the cab forward in tilted position. Without them or something equivalent very bad things can happen. I think most folks just rig up their own prop rods.

One of the members on this forum developed and supplies the tilt bracket set to Expeditions Imports Cab Tilt Bracket Set - 419-CABTLTST (expedition-imports.com)

The SEE manuals give a very detailed description on what steps are required to tilt the cab. Do note the ROPS needs to be removed.

Generally, the stuff you really need or want shows up much later than the unimportant stuff.

I'm just surprised that you seem to value a watch over a FLU. Especially on this site you may want to watch posting comments like that.

I will probably end up doing the cab tilt in the fall. I've purchased a gantry crane and a chain hoist to do this but I'm trying to get a steel garage set up before I start. I just hope the pto can make it. Most of the punishing digging is done so fingers crossed. I had attempted to address the pto with the cab on but it's too tight to get in there. After trying to drain the rear hydraulic tank and losing a lot of fluid on the ground. I installed a proper drain.

I'll definitely be grabbing some brackets. And weld up a jack to hold the front end loader. Thanks for the info!

After trying to drain the rear hydraulic tank and losing a lot of fluid on the ground. I installed a proper drain.

I would either put a lock on that lever, or remove it altogether.

People aren't as satisfied with just looking at things like they used to be.

It was a nice day today. Went out and did some maintenance and checkups. Nothing major, but I snapped a few pics because I know you like pics around here.

Also, I know some of you were curious about that rifle mount I have... I tried it with a thick broom handle, and it worked fine. I'm sure it would hold just about any rifle securely. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for my crossbow the rubber retainer doesn't stretch enough to get over the rail, so I'll have to make some modifications for this to work. Im sure a rubber bungee cord would be fine.

Over the course of the winter, this section of driveway got really muddy and developed deep, bumpy rutts which were actually pretty dangerous. I went out today and spent about 45 minutes fixing it. Scalped the high spots, filled the rutts, spread everything evenly with float, then drove over it about 50 times to compact it down. The picture doesn't really convey how steep this drive is, but it's pretty steep.

You know, for a rental, I'm sure doing a lot of road and driveway repair around here This guy's going to end up owing ME money. Seriously though, he said he had a really hard time finding renters for this place - and after living here for 6 months, I'm starting to understand why. Luckily it was a fairly mild winter, all things considered... I sure wouldn't want to be here for a bad one.

Closing on our house was delayed. Drama I don't really want to get into, but it involved a lien coming up on the title, the ex wife of the seller making things difficult, and having to renegotiate the entire contract. It's all sorted out now, but we're about 3 weeks behind schedule.

Anyway, things are moving forward again, and I'll have unrestricted physical access to the property in the next week or two... which means I'll be moving things out there. It also means I can start thinking about things which I've set aside until this moment - things like the spare tire for the SEE.


Consider this me "putting feelers" out for a spare rim. Tires can be had, but I'm not really sure where to find a disc brake rim.
