Fluid capacity and Filter numbers?

Is there a post that I'm not seeing on here that shows all the fluid capacities for m998 hmmwv?
I just picked mine up on Tuesday and I want to flush the fluids with new ones.

I have a 1989 m998 with the 6.2l .

Oil quantity?
Filter number ?
Transmission fluid type and quantity?
Transmission filter number?
Transfer case fluid and quantity?
Brake fluid capacity and type?
Power steering capicity and type?
Coolant capacity and type?
I tried downloading a manual but it just freezes and doesn't load.
Also are the filters something I can get from orileys ?

This thread came up searching using your thread title . Capacities are in the lube order, but if you can't download them you probably need to got to e-pay and buy the TM's on a disc for about $5.

Filters, air, oil and fuel

edit ; price went up they are now $12.99 shipped for a CD with all the TM's on it on e-bay.

LEO/FD HMMWV Check List & Part Numbers.

Power steering 1 1/2 at a Dex 2 or Dex 3. Do not use synthetic as it will kill your seals.

Oil 15-40 for diesels 8 qts with filter don't use synthetic

Trans Dex 2 or Dex 6 once again don't use synthetic

Air filter, don't need to change. Clean it using air hose.

Brake fluid DOT 5 only.

Oil filter. Use Wix not sure the number.

Hub and Differentials 90 weight gear oil.

Transfer case. Dex 2 or 3.

This is off the top of my head. Use the lube order. You can also GO to the KASCAR web site.

Once again for all of you new HMMWV owners out there, the military maintenance manuals are written for peoples of all skill levels and include answers to 90% of the questions we see posted here. They're all available for free to download at multiple sites on the internet. If you own one of these trucks you really should avail yourself of a full set of manuals. The local Chevy dealer isn't going to have your answers and most mechanics that have never served in the military will only give you blank stares if you ask them questions. The more you know about your truck the better off your going to be when there are problems with it whether it's out front of the Piggly Wiggly or 50 miles into the boonies.

BTW TM9-2320-280-10 is the drivers handbook for the HMMWV and has all the weight, dimension, configuration, and capacities listed in it.

Still need the lube order. Also the dash 2 or 20 level helps with troubleshooting. The 3, 4 & P diagrams and part numbers.. the 10 level is General information and PMCS at the operator level.

May I ask why you would not use synthetic? I see the seals on the power steering but what about the rest of the fluids

I used Lucas atf, which I believe is a semi synthetic. I haven’t had any issues

DEX 6 is a full synthetic

Can I replace Dexron 3 with Dexron 4. I always have that in stock due to the gant old Jeep/RAM.

Never heard of it, they jumped from III to VI IIRC, may be a Europe thing?

If it were me I would try to stick to Dex III, ATF+4 has an additive package for Mopar and is a full synthetic
