Yellow original paint under the drivers step Jerry can holder and under the tool box that is behind the holder.

Anyone seen this or know what it relates to?

A lot of trucks were surplussed out to counties and cities. Some of them were repainted using industrial paint in various colors (often using inmate labor).

It depends on if you got the vehicle directly from the government or through a third or forth party.

Realising this- I should have qualified:- Direct out of Fort Indian Town Gap PA. Last used in a training unit - civi steers for the nubes.

Some base only trucks got painted different colors
Haven't seen any other spots of non camo. Lots of layers of plain green, 3 colour camo and factory green....
It means your chicken.
- Er thanks!

It's kind of looking that way as I find more and more body cancer on the bottom of the cab - difficult box sections and upside down welding prospects. If only Jatonka had a spare cab...

If the rest of the truck isn't like that, but just green paint, then those yellow parts might have come from a different vehicle that was repainted.

Flight line trucks were often painted yellow, my 819 was yellow at one time, somewhere in the middle of ALL the layer of paint there is a yellow layer.

Long ago at a diminutive little maintenance unit, a grunt with a sense of humor thought to himself, if I spray part of this truck with some leftover yellow paint, it will surely confound some Brit living in a snowy environment some time in the distant future. He has probably been chuckling ever since!

If only you had a wrecker to pick the cab up and flip it over so the welding would be in easier positions.....
