Mad now. Problem is, one can not know who the scammer chimp actually is. Thats the frustrating part-no possibility of renumeration or other sorts of activities.

Sorry to hear this happened. For high-dollar items, I either deal direct with people I know I can trust, or I buy it FTF at a show or swap meet. And I NEVER deal with overseas sellers. I support American business, period paragraph. Just my experiences and opinions.

While you are out $1400, it gives us knowledge to prevent this type of scam working on us in the future.

I hear you and totally agree. But if you are trying to outfit a British military land rover radio truck, you need British radios……I have not seen many for sale in the US.

They seem a large and reputable firm. reading the bumf, I would have given it a miss though.

This item being British military equipement "specially designed or modified for military use" requires a UK government military export control licence before it can be exported overseas.

For orders of less than £1000, we charge a £25 administration fee which is invoiced to you separately by Paypal as a service, to cover the additional cost to us of processing all the paperwork. For all Orders over £1000 we provide this administrative service free of charge.
The procedure follows;

3. You would need to email us at tacticall@me.com requesting an email copy of the UK Government end user undertaking form (EUU FORM ).
4. You would be sent a Paypal invoice for the £25 export licence administration fee only if the order is less than £1000 in value. Once this is paid, you would receive an email EUU FORM. You would need to complete this form in Draft and Email it back at tacticall@me.com for checking. The form would be checked and any amendments would be highlighted and returned to you by Email for amendment. Those amendments must be made and the completed EUU FORM with an original signature must be posted back to us by a signed for service.
5. On receipt of this original correctly completed EUU FORM we would then make a formal application for the UK Government Military Export Control Licence, enclosing your EUU FORM with the application. This procedure can take a minimum of 28 working days to complete.
6. On receiving UK Government consent for the Export to you, we will send you a Paypal invoice for the Couriers delivery charge at cost to us. Once this delivery charge payment has been received and the export control formalities have been completed as above, the item will be despatched to you within 3 working days from receipt.

That's what i thought, but the Police in Wales went to that address and nobody is even there anymore. I looked it up on Google maps and the shop is for lease….

Ok, so now the police are involved? , Then that (at least) should be your next point of action..as (over here any,ways) That False dealing and sales action is ILLEGAL, fraud , and or "obtaining monies by pecuniary Deception". They (the person director or business) Can not just "dissapear!" (here at least)..so you need to address (some kind of ) a legal complaint against the firm as dealt with. With your supporting evidences.
I am so dissapointed your experience with honestly trying to further your hobby by way of a supplier in the U.K. should have ended in a really BAD reflection on U.K. suppliers in general. though this is not the case I can assure you.
All my U.S. trucks are fitted out with clansman comunications. I shall be endevouring to find an honest reliable and up front dealer of this equiptment to try to alleviate Some of your loss and experience.

Army Radio Sales in London (Ben) has been good as a source. I've had some dealings with the chap that the OP mentions, most of it not pleasant, but very little money passed hands. I was looking for an RF (RG cable) adapter for my PRC-319 - Tactical claimed he had them, but at a cost of 25 GBP, with an additional 20 GBP for shipping to the USA (for an item that weighs less than four ounces). I made my own for less than 10 USD and about 30 minutes of work. Anyone that needs one, PM me for the plans and materials list.

The seller in question does appear to be a scammer, but.....

Just like dealing with GovLiquidation, you had better read all the fine print of what is covered/not covered with Ebay/PayPal fraud protection.
If you purchase an item that is not importable to your Country and it get seized by Customs, there is no protection for the refund of your money.
From the information provided by the Original Poster, it doesn't seem like this is the case, but I just thought others might want to know this information.

I have gotten good deals, and I have been scammed.
I never risk more than I am willing to walk into a Gambling Casino with, and leave without.

Don't count on ebay looking out for any one's butt except their own. After I had proved fraud and counterfeiting by one of their sellers and turned everything over to USPS postal inspectors because ebay refused to take action; ebay threatened to bar and take other action against ME because I was putting them in a bad light.
Sure enough, it's in their fine print. Can't do anything that discredits ebay.

He points out that "dealers" on E Bay woudn't know radio or electronic army stuff if it fell on their heads! I lost $160 to that jerk last year. I filed a complaint with the british export commission, and the never did contact me. Ebay is no help either. I just wish something could be done about this kind of theft. Thanks bill
