The Columbus spot will be moving also. They purchased a wearhouse somewhere else in the Columbus area. I sure wish they would open a spot in the UP of Michigan. Lots of room up there and close to me...
Somewhere, somehow a senetor or high ranking officer's son, or a GL executive's relative that owns a trucking company is getting rich off of moving all this stuff around and billing uncle sam...

Well that makes two reasons to live in OK ...
1) The number one (according to exit polls) Red State
2) Green Machines

I wonder if GL will get back into negotiated sales. I know that they sold some trucks in negotiated sales meaning the trucks never actually hit our catalogs. I called them on this a few years back when there was about 20 mint deuces in Alaska. I could not see getting one or two...but, if I could have gotten all 20, that would have been nice. I even had a dealer lined up to take most of the trucks. However, GL told me at that time that, while they have had negotiated sales, they were suspending them at that time; I never checked back on that. It would make sense to me as a way to speed up the process of getting rid of trucks. One buyer...one EUC...multiple vehicles...less hassles. Any thoughts?

Just got back from Tinker AFB and have some news.

Talked to Steve Jackson-Yard guy (there are 2 Steve Jacksons, Yard and Office)

He confirmed that within the next few weeks the main warehouse will be moving to the Dayton Tire facility in OKC. They have leased the space.

The scrap will stay at Tinker, what trucks are in the pipeline will be at Norman and all of the inside warehouse stuff will be at Dayton. The plant is over 400,000sf and will service the Central region because GL has lost warehouse space at other bases.

He did not know about future trucks. He thought they where preparing parking space at the Dayton plant but wasn't sure.

Now instead of a 7 mile drive I will have to drive about 22 miles.

I'm curious about how the contract is written. I wonder if Uncle Sugar 'sells' the items to GL(DD1149) and GL keeps whatever profit they make beyond what they paid for it. Or, do they basically sell on consignment and split the profit based on a percentage.
