I am new to this site and just wanted some information to get started on a M792 restoration for a museum. Currently I am missing the drain plugs for the diffs and oil pan, generator, and fuel and oil filters. Is there any good source for parts on these or experts that could help with information?

Best I recall the drain plugs are all NPT. The engine is 3/4" or 1" and I think the differentials are 2" maybe? It's been a while since I've looked at them and I'm not near mine to look right now. The standard alternator is the usual M-Series 60 amp, though the pulley is application specific. I've seen one gama goat with a 100 amp system, but I think they were few and far between. Fuel are oil filters are commercially avilable.

The pulley for the generator is the biggest problem right now. Took a HMMWV 60 amp gen that bolts up nice, but the pulley doesn't have enough offset. do you have an suggestions on where to find the proper pulley? Will the HMMWV 60 amp work on this application?

Has anyone heard of a Donaldson adapter kit P174779 working to convert the oil filter head to a spin-on? My local Detroit dealer is suggesting this kit to replace the canister that I am missing.

Yes , the adapter and most of the parts are avialible on ebay from Equipment Sales (vendor) some of their parts are pricey and some are dirt cheap , roll the dice I guess Good Luck, I have a line on a few hard to get items occasionly if you need hard to find stuff , check with me and ill see what I can do

It is a restoration for a museum. It has sat in the back of a motorpool for 30+ years. I am trying to get it fired up for the first time since then. Multiple parts are missing, but its slowly getting put back together.

Does anyone have pics of the heater for the trailer of a m792? Pics of the heater installed as well as the fuel lines, fittings, and duct work associated with it would be a great help.

Got the pulley for the gen and master cylinder today, but I am still waiting on the oil filter adapter to come in so I can fire it up. Any advice before trying to start this thing after it has sat for 30 years? I have replaced all filters, cleaned the tanks, engine bars over fine. I plan on removing valve cover and lubing the top end.
