Gen Lights Draining Batteries

My friend has a M1031 that has the problem of draining it's batteries after only a few days. He recently noticed (after dark) that with the key out, both GEN 1 and GEN 2 lights were glowing dimly. What wiring gremlin would cause this issue? The truck is in military stock configuration and direct from Redstone Arsenal. Thanks!

Alternators need to be rebuilt.

Diodes in the tri-diode or the rectifier are mor than likely bad. While he is in there might as well rebuild all of it. The TM 9-2320-289-34 has a section for the rebuild

YUP , that's the fix . Time to get up close and personnel with your alternators . More of a problem getting them off then rebuilding the unit IMHO . Parts are readily available . Nice weekend project . Check the site for alternator rebuild , you should find lots of how to info , good luck , Bob k
