I have pulled the pulley off my 200 AMP generator (pics attached) and I don't understand 100% how the pulley is designed/works. I was under the impression that you slide the pulley on, line up the woodruff key to the groove, and then the pulley should only spin when the generator shaft ( bolt coming out of center of generator) spins for a normal pulley. My understanding is the OAP pulleys will freely spin one way and the other way it only spins in sync with the generator shaft? When I put my finger in the center hole of the pulley I removed as to lock it in place like the woodruff key, it freely spins both ways and I would expect it to only spin freely one way? I'm assuming it is bad or there wouldn't be a purpose for the woodruff key if it should spin freely.
Thanks in advance...
