As far as I know it's Gillespie Coatings Inc. or GCI, never tried to contact them direct, but I know they are a government supplier<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_wink.gif" alt="Wink">

Thought I would set yoour mind at ease, I looked up an article published in the Military Vehicles Magazine, Dec 2002, Issue # 94. It states the "Korean War M-Series, 1/4 ton 4X4 & Others M.V.'s" as:
202.2430
AJP WWII
Semi-Gloss O.D.

The article is entitled "Military Vehicle Painting: Color Evolution and Application" by George Baxter and Neil Maestre.

the MV magazine email address is <miltaryvehicles@krause.com> they could sent you a copy.

Hope this Helps

Tony,

Thanks for the paint help. I've read that article too. As far as I can tell, AJP WWII is the same as Rapcos WWII semi gloss. The AJP for some reason looks a little grayer or darker than the WWII semi gloss(i've done some paint samples with spray cans on my truck), but not by much. Which company are you going with on your trucks? I know that they both are Gillespie and AJP is supposidly a custom match, but to me they look like the same color and Rapco was a lot cheaper than AJP.

Deuceman51,

I was talking to a guy in New Jersey and he had his truck restored by a outfit in New Jersey called Joe Young, Inc. I called him on a couple of items that I need help on and he helped me, then the subject got to paint, he recommended a paint color and suggested I buy it from AJP and ask for Baxter the owner, so that is how I got to AJP.. A person there Nick, gave me a lot of painting info, and told me if I need any additional help to call back. I believe I related much of the info to you. I bought my paint from AJP and satisfied with there service and help.

I called RAPCO before I talked to Joe Young in Jersey and tried to get paint info, talked to a lady there but never was able to get the guy in the know and he never called me back, whereas AJP gave me a lot of info and always returned my calls.

Both of them sell the paint at the same price $24.00 per gal, re: adv in Military Vehicles Feb 2005.

Tony,
I'm glad to learn that the info I supplied was benificial to you. The nice thing about Baxter is that he's located about an hour from my place, so it's easy for me to avoid the haz-mat shipping fees by taking a little drive to his place in Bristol, PA.
Don't feel bad about the lack of communication with Mark (Rapco), he was difficult to catch up to when I was restoring my MB, back in 1992.
