Seems to be little buzz on the goat front, Must be the weather, most have no doors and even fewer have a safe heater, ( imagine being the passenger with the NOS goat heater under your seat ) MIne are by and large put up for winter, 7 months long here. Perhaps they will yard up like deer and then reappear in the spring, fresh and better than last year!

Good luck on the hunt, Out of curiosity, how did so many Goats end up in England, I don't remember the Brits using them, unless they came in from US Army in Germany they would have to have been USAF assets. Although we had some on range duty at some of the large bombing and gunnery ranges in the US and a few in USAF Fire Department use in England , I don't remember them being USAF Motor-pool stock. US Army personnel were as scarce as Hens Teeth in England A few at Mormon Hill, Chicksands and the Port in Felixstowe . Other than that I don't recollect any large groups of Army

Mine served in Germany, came to Belgium, was sold to a collector in England - and she made it back to Germany. :D

The winch kit for the Goat was stored in an original wooden crate. Went back home to the US. And came back by vessel to Germany. So the winch has seen more miles than the Goat.

My shop was about 300-400 meters from the CAN-Point in Kaiserslautern, Germany. At lunch, we used to go down and watch the Dutch load Goats and Jeeps up on trucks, by the dozens, to be hauled of to the land of windmills.
